Repeat orders are the clearest signal of product reliability. In this project, a long standing aluminum distributor in Thailand returned for a second bulk shipment of 5052 H32 aluminum plate, this time 22 tons split across three thicknesses. The order confirmed that stable mechanical properties, predictable flatness and on time delivery matter more to a distributor than a one off price advantage.

| Packing | Wooden pallet with waterproof paper and strapping, inland truck delivery after port discharge |
5052 is the highest strength non heat treatable alloy in common sheet and plate supply. The magnesium addition gives it good corrosion resistance in marine and industrial atmospheres, and the H32 strain hardened temper delivers a combination of strength and formability that fabricators can bend and press without cracking.
- Corrosion resistance: suitable for coastal installations where salt air attacks untreated steel and lower grade aluminum.
- Formability in H32: supports bending, roll forming and stamping for truck bodies, tanks and enclosures.
- Weldability: performs well in TIG and MIG assembly without loss of joint strength.
- Weight advantage: replaces steel plate at roughly one third of the density while keeping the required stiffness.
| Challenge | Our Response |
|---|---|
| Thickness tolerance drift across a mixed 1.5 / 2.0 / 2.5 mm schedule | Rolling schedule grouped by gauge, with crown and flatness checked on each coil before cutting to sheet |
| Surface marks showing after the customer's punching process | Interleaved paper and felt lined pallet contact points to eliminate abrasion during ocean transit |
| Tight delivery window for a project shipment to an eastern industrial estate | Pre booked production slot and documents prepared in parallel so the container cleared port without waiting |
- 22 tons delivered complete in three thicknesses, with no short shipment on any gauge.
- Incoming inspection accepted the full lot, and the customer reported no surface rework at the fabrication stage.
- The distributor placed this repeat order within one season and now books 5052 plate as a standing item.
For a distributor, the cost of a failed shipment is never just the material. It is the customer complaint, the rework, the airfreight and the credibility at stake with their own accounts. Building a repeat order relationship around consistent metallurgical quality, stable flatness and honest lead times is what converts a first trial into a yearly program.
If you are sourcing 5052, 6061 or 3003 aluminum plate in 1.5 mm to 2.5 mm thickness at 1220 mm x 2440 mm, share your schedule and destination port, and our team will quote against your actual gauge mix.
