Tear Resistant Laminated Aluminum Foil 110gsm Fiberglass Mesh Reinforced Roll for HVAC Duct Wrap

This tear resistant laminated aluminum foil is a three layer composite of aluminum foil, fiberglass mesh and polyethylene film, engineered for applications where the reflective barrier must survive abrasion, tension and site handling. The woven fiberglass mesh carries the mechanical load, so the foil layer keeps its reflective surface instead of splitting at the first stress point.

• Tear Resistant: Elmendorf tear resistance of MD 3200mN and TD 3600mN keeps the roll intact during slitting, wrapping and stapling.
• High Tensile Strength: 240N/25mm in machine direction and 260N/25mm across, so the foil resists stretching on high speed lamination and winding lines.
• Mechanical Strength: 650N bursting strength and 28N puncture resistance protect the reflective layer against rough handling on site.
• Stable Lamination: 4.5N/15mm peel strength, no delamination after 4 hours at -30 C or 90 C.
• Reflective Barrier: 91%-92% reflectivity with 0.015gsm KPA water vapor transmission.

The combination of woven fiberglass reinforcement and a sealed foil surface makes this laminated foil a working material rather than a fragile facing. It is specified wherever the wrap has to be pulled tight, stapled, taped, walked on during installation or exposed to weather for a period of time before the cladding goes up.

The primary application. The 110gsm grade is wrapped around galvanized spiral duct, rectangular duct and flexible duct cores as an external vapour barrier and reflective jacket. Because the fiberglass mesh takes the tension, the foil can be pulled tight over 1220mm duct sections without necking down at the overlap, and staples at 100-150mm spacing do not propagate tears along the roll direction. The 91%-92% reflectivity reduces radiant heat gain on exposed rooftop duct runs, while the 0.015gsm KPA vapour transmission limits condensation on chilled water and low temperature air lines. Service temperature of -30 C to 90 C covers both cold air distribution and hot side ductwork.

Used as the facing and vapour barrier over glass wool, rock wool and PIR boards in pitched roofs, purlin roofs, metal wall panels and sandwich panel backing. The high tensile strength allows installation across purlin spans of 1.2-1.5m with sag control, and the tear resistance prevents the membrane from splitting at screw penetrations and at the overlap when the roof sheet is fixed over it. The perforated option is used where a breathable facing is required in timber frame wall cavities.

Applied as a continuous vapour barrier on the warm side of PU panel joints, floor and ceiling transitions, and around pipe and conduit penetrations. Mechanical strength matters here because the membrane is often installed over large flat areas where operatives walk and place equipment; the 28N puncture resistance and 650N bursting strength reduce the risk of pinholes that would otherwise let moisture into the insulation core.

Installed between the steel purlin and the roof or wall cladding as a condensation control layer. The reflective surface faces the air space, and the reinforced structure resists the abrasion caused by sliding cladding sheets and by foot traffic during erection. UV treated grades are supplied where the membrane stays exposed for several weeks before the cladding is completed.

Used as a moisture barrier liner for machinery, marine equipment and container linings, and as reflective wrapping for heat sensitive goods in transit. The laminate can be stitched, heat sealed or taped, and the mesh reinforcement keeps the wrap from tearing at the stitching line during lifting and unpacking.

Supplied as a facing for automotive heat shield backing, appliance cabinet insulation, duct board facing and general composite lamination where a reflective, tear resistant skin is bonded to foam, glass wool or nonwoven substrates. The 4.5N/15mm peel strength holds through slitting, die cutting and roll forming.

Used in poultry house and greenhouse roof insulation, mushroom growing rooms and livestock buildings, where the foil facing reflects radiant heat and the reinforced structure withstands washing and disinfection cycles.
